Performing Arts Department Chair

Polytechnic School, Pasadena, CA | August 2020 – Present

  • Lead the design and delivery of dynamic, comprehensive Drama programs for 3rd-8th grade students, incorporating all aspects of theatre production, including direction, costume design, lighting, and stage management.

  • Oversee the production of multiple theatrical performances each year, ensuring high-quality student engagement and creative output.

  • Serve as 8th Grade Advisor and Human Development instructor, fostering student growth and facilitating cross-curricular learning.

  • Directed and produced two major musicals annually, in addition to numerous student showcases, managing all aspects of production including set design, musical direction, choreography, lighting, sound, fundraising, publicity, and merchandising.

  • Coordinated with parents, professional artists, and community members to ensure the success of theatrical productions.

  • Developed and taught a range of courses from basic to advanced acting for Performing Arts Academy, Magnet program students, and the general student population, including Special Education students.

  • Created and implemented a Stage Technology curriculum, providing students with practical, hands-on experience in lighting, sound, and operations.

  • Supervised and mentored all Stage Crew activities, overseeing the technical execution of campus-wide events and performances.
